In our coming season of 'La Fille mal Gardee' Celeste will be a Villager.

Alex Dawes
Alex studies ballet with Nicola Orchard at the Orchard Adademy of Performing Arts. She began ballet when she was only 4 years old, which means she has done ballet for 7 years now! Alex has achieved Distinction for all her ballet exams from Primary to Grade 3. But that's not all - Alex has also achieved the highest level or marks for her Modern and Tap dancing as well! Alex studies RAD Grade 5 and has just attained her RAD Intermediate Foundation with Merit and has been studying pointe work. Alex would like to be a professional dancer when she gets older. Alex has performed with South Coast Ballet in its productions of Cinderella, Mermaid and The Nutcracker, and Coppelia. For Snow White Alex played the solo part of 'Stroppy' as well as a Courtier. Alex did not appear in our recent production of The Nutcracker in January 2011 as she was in the Lighthouse Pantomime, Peter Pan, but returned to us to be in our production of 'Giselle' where she played a Villager in Act One, and in the supporting ballet 'The Magic Toyshop' she played a Naughty Poodle. In Snow Queen Alex was a Skater, Arabian Courtier, Reindeer and a Frosicle with her colleagues, but also danced her first Solo Variation with us. She gave a beautiful interpretation of the 'Rose Flower', which really showed off her talents. Alex will be working as an Artiste and First Artist this year, and has also been chosen for the Classical Ballet Partnering class, partnered with Patrick Barrett-Donlon. Alex was promoted to First Artiste in October 2011 after her assured and confident Solo Performances in Snow Queen and her strong partnering skills with Patrick.

Eliana Langoo
Eliana is a student at Poole Academy of Dance with Sue Mills and Sophia Dowland, and has achieved Distinction for her Tap and Modern, as well as Distinctions and Honours for all her Silver and Gold Medal Tests. Additional to all this, Eliana studies Piano and Clarinet - both at Grade 3 Standard. She is currently studying ballet at RAD Grade 5 and Intermediate Foundation level as well as pointe work. Eliana has also clocked up quite a bit of performing experience behind her - two major productions for Poole Academy, Major School Productions, various BPSP Jazz Band events and in a Major local musical production of 'Oliver' with Poole and Parkstone Productions! Not surprisingly then, Eliana has her sights set on one day being an actress, director or choreographer, a West End performer and/or a dance teacher! Eliana has performed in 'Cinderella', 'Mermaid', 'The Nutcracker', Coppelia and Snow White with South Coast Ballet. For our 2009 performances of 'The Nutcracker', Eliana played her first Supporting Leading Role, the part of Bertie (Bertrude) one of the cousins of Young Clara and her brother Freddie. Her interesting comic and acting talents were on full display, Eliana showing us how well she could bring to life this very entertaining character. She also played a Soldier, a Snowflake, and one of the Sugary Jellies Pas de Quatre. In 'Snow White' Eliana played the supporting lead role of 'Shifty' one of the two devious henchmen of the Wicked Queen Ursula and with her colleague Chloe West gave an interesting and in depth interpretation of the character - which she developed from scratch as her own. In our performances of 'The Nutcracker' in January 2011 she once again played a comic role, that of Brave Captain Fancey the head of the Soldiers who battle with the Crazed Mouse King. In our performances of 'Giselle' Eliana played a Lady in Waiting in Act One and a Wili in Act Two, as well as playing 'The Cook', one half of the 'Cook & Maid' Duet in the supporting ballet 'The Magic Toyshop'. In our recent season, 'The Snow Queen' Eliana was cast to dance as an Arabian Courtier, Skeleton, Shadow, Spanish Townsperson and Snowflake. Eliana will not be taking part in 'La Fille mal Gardee' due to an injury - but we look forward to having her dance with us again in 'Cinderella'.

Nancy gained Distinction for all her medal tests in tap, modern, ballet, singing, and drama and would one day like to be an actress (as well as a teacher!) Nancy was promoted from Artiste to Coryphee in 2010 and her credits with South Coast Ballet include 'The Nutcracker' in 2009, where she danced as one of the Children, a Mouse, an Angel and a Flowers and as a Villager and a Harvester in 'Coppelia'. In our recent production of 'The Snow Queen' Phoebe danced in the ensemlbes of the Skaters, Arabian Courtiers, Reindeer and Frosticles with her colleagues as well as dancing her first Classical Solo 'Marigold Flower' which was beautifully performed. Annie has just been accepted for training in London and will not be able to perform in 'La Fille mal Gardee', but we wish her the very best in this great opportunity!!

Chloe has danced in 'Cinderella' and 'Mermaid' with South Coast Ballet, and for our performances of 'The Nutcracker' in 2009 played her first Supporting Leading Role, that of the part of Freddie (Frederick) the younger brother of Young Clara. In 'Coppelia' she danced as one of the Villagers, the Headless Body and one of the Hours; and in 'Snow White' Chloe was chosen to play the supporting lead role of 'Nifty' one of the devious henchmen of the Wicked Queen Ursula, alongside and with her colleague Eliana Langoo.
